Fall 2010

Karl Taylor
Karl Taylor demonstrates an almost scientific curiosity and observation as he experiments within the medium of glass. His love of glass was sparked early on by several family heirloom Christmas ornaments that were created by his great-great-great grandfather, Nicholas Kopp, a glassblower in the early 1900s. His father, an art teacher, also provided Karl access to many different venues for creating artwork and discovering where his talents lie.
by Colleen Bryan

Also look for Glasscaster with Marcie Davis in an interview with renowned paperweight artist and teacher, Paul Stankard, who shares many of the insights he has gained while creating his masterpieces in glass. Then visit the 2010 Glass Art Society Conference from the viewpoint of a first-time attendee and find suggestions for sources of inspiration for artists from the International Society of Glass Beadmakers. Rounding out these great articles is International Glass, which shows how Gemmiti Model Art created a preconstruction model of a large architectural glass application created by Italian artist, Renzo Piano, for the CAS Piazza glass roof.

You can find the rest of these articles in the Fall 2010 issue of Profitable Glass Quarterly.
