Gleaming GardensGrowing Patrons at the Great Glass Pumpkin Patch
Northern California locals and visitors looking for the perfect fall harvest experience saw a shimmering field of glass pumpkins at the 9th Annual Great Glass Pumpkin Patch sponsored by the Bay Area Glass Institute (BAGI). The week-long celebration boasts docent-led tours and demonstrations, after which the pumpkins are released for sale to the public. BAGI’s mission is to promote public education about glass art and to help students and young artists develop their skills and careers.

Henry believes that there are a lot of glass crafters today who have picked up glass and have rapidly started into making complex pieces without learning enough of the basics regarding the physical makeup of glass. He knows that a thorough understanding of glass fundamentals can save years of experimentation. Henry also believes that flameworkers need to know the differences in the way that propane, methane, and natural gas torches work.
