Spring 2003

I
t’s the Fred & Shane Show
The works of Fred Birkhill and Shane Fero have contributed both separately and collectively to the evolution of the American flamework movement for over two decades. The sophisticated colors used in Shane’s vessels are reached by rolling the molten mass in multiple layers of powdered glass. Fred, who creates only with soft glass, began as a scientific glassblower. Together they value the process of educating others and successfully synthesize their differing styles to provide an eclectic learning experience for their students.
