His fine arts background adds much to the lifestyle of the company and these interests have proven to be a great asset to the development and success of both periodicals.

Maureen James - Editor in Chief
Maureen gained invaluable experience in the field of publishing from her eight years as part of the staff of Standard Gravure, a subsidiary of the Courier-Journal. It was her desire to provide a vital business resource for glass professionals that led to the birth of Profitable Glass Quarterly.

Rhonda Sewell - Accountant
Rhonda is involved in all aspects of accounting including accounts payable and receivable, tax records, and quarterly reports. Her ten years of experience with a CPA firm and nine years as an elementary school bookkeeper help her to further enhance the excellent customer service she provides to the clients of PGQ.

Kathy Gentry - Circulation Manager
Kathy has worked with the company since the inception of its sister publication, Glass Patterns Quarterly. Kathy provides excellent customer service and is responsible for maintaining the ever-increasing database of PGQ subscribers and advertisers.

Joyce Harp - Circulation Assistant
Joyce Harp uses the skills she developed as a customer service representative for the United States Postal Service in her position with PGQ. Joyce is involved in managing the magazine's databases, supporting subscription sales and circulation, and providing customer service to subscribers and advertisers.

Darlene Welch - Copy Editor
Darlene brings to PGQ experience as a writer, proofreader for various book publishing companies, and private school library teacher responsible for mentoring her students in the annual 'Young Author Awards' sponsored by the Courier-Journal. Darlene works to assure continuity and accuracy and also serves as one of the contributing writers for the magazine.

Tamara Neal - Retail Advertising Sales Representative
Tamara provides customer service to Profitable Glass Quarterly’s retailer clientele and compiles the Retailer Directory found at the end of each issue of Glass Patterns Quarterly. Tamara brings to PGQ extended experience in sales, account services, and customer care for the advertising and food brokerage industries.

Rick Ward - Sales Executive
Rick has an extensive background in computers and Web design, as well as twenty years of experience designing and building art glass projects and, more recently, etching and carving glass. He owns a small art glass studio, Glass Wizardry, and also teaches classes in digital photography and videography, all of which help Rick to understand the business needs of art glass professionals.


Mark Waterbury - Designer/Production Artist
Mark translates his vast talent and experience in the world of art glass into remarkable article and ad layouts for PGQ. Mark also lends his eye for color and light to Glass Patterns Quarterly as a stained glass design artist. His firsthand knowledge and insight into running stained glass retail stores was instrumental in the early years of GPQ.

Dave Burnett - Production Artist
Dave enjoys watching the issues of PGQ come together as he works on laying out articles, advertisements, and the various sections devoted to new products. Dave is also part owner of an art gallery, is involved in various art shows, and designs and constructs stained glass projects for Glass Patterns Quarterly.

Cindy Williams - Production Artist
Cindy issues and updates advertisers' contracts, updates ad specs, and makes sure that all issues are archived for future reference. Cindy's previous experience in providing customer service and working with computers helps her to also serve as a support person to the magazine's clientele.

Colleen Bryan
Colleen finds the diverse writing projects in which she is involved as a freelance writer since her retirement from public service to be very energizing. In addition to her profiles for PGQ, Colleen prepares grants, writes magazine articles, and conducts research and evaluations.

Diane Heilenman
Diane earned a masters in twentieth-century art and architecture at New York University’s Institute of Fine Arts and has served as library assistant for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, director/curator at Locust Grove Historic House Museum in Louisville, Kentucky, and development liaison for the Louisville Fund for the Arts. Diane is currently art critic and gardening editor for the Courier-Journal.

Marcie Davis
Marcie is a multitalented torchworking artist and writer who travels throughout the world interviewing hot glass luminaries and who can often be heard sharing tips on Glass Talk Radio. Marcie also produces and markets instructional videos of other glass artists through her company, Glassworks Video Productions.

Claire Sykes
Claire is a freelance writer living in Portland, Oregon. Since 1990, dozens of retail trade magazines in the U.S. and Canada have published her how-to business management articles on employee relations, customer service, marketing and promotions, and general business.

Barton Goldsmith, Ph. D.
Barton has spent more than two decades helping Fortune 500 companies, educational institutions, and government organizations worldwide to develop creative and balanced leadership.
